First major project (Paint color)
This may sound like an easy project but it's not.. Rebecca must have made 8 Different trips to Home Depot and Freeze Paint before deciding on our color palate.
Check out the samples on the wall. The house was looking like a plaid shirt before we decided on color.
This was over a 2 week project.
First small project (Garage lighting)
I started out small with the projects. First on the list was to add some additional lighting to the somewhat dim garage. After a quick trip to Home Depot and over a 100 something dollars later I had florescent lighting and the tools needed to hang/install everything.
The real reason I had to install the lights is because I pulled one of the old florescent lights out of the ceiling while trying to climb into the crawl space above the garage.
The project was fairly easy. the lights do need to be assembled but can be done with basic tools.
Screw Drivers
Needle Nose Pliers
Drill
etc
I was able to utilize an existing electrical outlet above the garage so no serious wiring required.
Our cool plants
Steep incline
It's a little older
The house was built in 1989 and is all original, from the popcorn ceilings to the linoleum flooring. Rebecca and I made it our mission to be handy new home owners, just like the people on HGTV. This blog is dedicated to the progression of home projects as they unfold.
We probably watch about 5-7 hours of HGTV week and are self proclaimed handy men, and lady. Seriously, they get everything done in an hour when we are watching the shows and they make it looks so easy.
